First Methodist School is a ministry of First United Methodist Church Duncanville.  Our school has served the families of the Best Southwest area since 1968.  We educate the whole child through an age appropriate, planned program within a nurturing, Christian environment.  We partner with families to help children grow physically, emotionally, academically, spiritually, and socially.

My daughter has been attending First Methodist School for 2 1/2 years and I must say being a veteran teacher I am extremely pleased with how they contribute to my daughter's training: educationally, mentally, emotionally, and especially spiritually. First Methodist School is unique!  FMS has a warm welcoming Christian environment.  The wonderful caring and dedicated teachers are focused to every child's educational needs & growth. You can feel that FMS is a place that nurtures confidence and family values, which provides an excellent foundation for our children's learning, not just academically but also spiritually.

    Our 3 children have attended FMS.  They have been truly blessed in developing an eagerness for learning, a great work ethic, and are caring respectful individuals.

We LOVE First Methodist School.  We have 2 children who attended FMS and are currently in the Red Oak ISD, one in Jr. High and one at Shields Elementary.  FMS prepared them so well for their future education, academically and socially.  When our oldest child was about to enter Red Oak ISD his teacher looked at his file and exclaimed, “We love to see kids come from First Methodist School.  They have the BEST reputation”.  I felt very reassured about my decision to send my children to FMS since this teacher had been teaching for many years and lived in Waxahachie.  The reputation extended beyond the “local” community.
